Cometh the hour Cometh the man !!

The man from Essex delivered the goods - more cattle from one man than some centres get in total - and top quality to boot !!

Testament to the fact that quality always sells was shown by some of the top buyers in the Country turning up and produced a trade that defied the laws of gravity (have you heard about the beef trade) resulting in prices £200 dearer than in the Spring.

He started in the Breeding Section with a very nice Pure Bred Simmental Bull, 18mo, which sold for £3,800.  Following on with a run of really classy Pedigree Simmental Bulling Heifers 13-14mo which reached £2,400 £2,300 £2,200.

Finally we had a grand run of quality stores, selling to £1,700 for Limousin x Steers - all from one man.   Chapeau to him.

Other bigger and older cattle reached £2,150 for Lincoln Red steers from Mr. Dobell and £1,900 for Herefords from Mr De Bootman.

A small entry of Cows and Calves met a good demand

Messers Lambert & Co sold a Simmental Cow & Calf to £1850 and SC Holden also had a Lim x Cow & Hereford Calf to £1800
Jason Taylor sold Cows with South Devon Calves to £1650

Mill Green Park sold a superb young Simmental Bull at £3,800

Another decent entry for the time of year and a great trade, albeit a bit less than recent weeks.
Top spot went to CW Potter with Blues Bulls at £705 & £700.  R Paterson sold quality Charolais to £550, £530, £515, £510, £505.
Alex Dann had the top price Angus at £405 and CB & SC Gapp reached the giddy heights of £520 with Herefords.  Black & White Bull calves sold to £330 for Alex Dann

A sound day in the sheep shed, post Festival and a quiet retail position.

Lambs and Hoggs met fierce bidding for quality and meat and it was great to see Gerald Ketley back at Norwich with some quality Shearling Mules with Suffolk Lambs at foot selling to £122 a life.
