Without a doubt the best market for a long time !!
The prices listed below are unremarkable - however, if you saw the cattle that they relate to, you would be astounded.  Its one of those periods when demand outstrips supply and nobody can do anything about it.

A nice cow and calf outfit from R. Criddle Livestock topped the breeders at £1310

Cull Cattle ( )

A good entry of prime saw increased levels of cull cow trade with a top price of 178ppkg for Matt Barker and an overall average, everything in of 137.26ppkg

(67) Calves

What a good entry for the time of year and no prisioners were taken !!  Outstanding trade yet again with CW Potter topping the market with B.Blues to £450, £425 with the same breed from RJ Barnes reaching £395 and Alex Dann £385. Quality Limousins from R. Paterson sold to £340, £330, £330 and the usual quality Angus from David Parsons reached £295 twice. CB & SC Gapp sold Herefords to £260 and some nice Shorthorns from Johnny Wyatt made £250, £240, £232 and £220.
Black and Whites from Johnny Wyatt sold to £145, whilst Alex Dann reached £140. Strong blues from Coston Hall sold to £445.

SHEEP (573)

The day started badly with our offices, sale rings and weighbridges being vandalised sometime during Friday night or early Saturday morning, but this did not stop Norwich Market running a very successful market, with all the staff pulling together and being resolute and defiant. The number of sheep sold exceeded the last sale.

PRIME HOGGS (266)
Small hoggs were at a premium, but heavier lambs a bit easier. Rob Britton topping at 303.20ppkg and Lewin Farms £134 per head.
