An excellent quality turnout at Norwich, with all stock purchased almost exclusively by local farmers.  Many of the stores were well shaped but lacked strength and attracted big prices. Is the beef trade about to wobble ?  We hope not, especially with big inflationary pressures on everything from feed to fertiliser, which puts farmers under pressure. There is one thing for certain, we have been through all this nonsense before and come out at the other end and we will do so again.

Almost more buyers than calves and the trade continues. Strong calves from CW Potter sold to £445, £445, £420 for Blues. Nice Angus from David Parsons reached £275 and £265 for Alex Dann. Limousins again in demand, with Bulls to £325 and RJ Barnes and Heifers to £295 for R. Paterson.  Pearn Wyatt had a nice run of Shorthorns which reached £280 and £262 and LG Brighams little Herefords sold to £305.

A few less today with uncertainty on the lamb prices during the week and into next week, but prices good throughout and store lambs remain a fast trade also.
